Q: How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? A: We used many cinematic conventions in this film. For camera work, we used techniques such as panning to help give a sense of the current surroundings.We used two closeups to kind of elude to an incoming action scene. Another camera shot we used was a wide shot to show the area in which this was all taking place to show more of the setting. In editing, we used slow motion to emphasize the tackle scene and make it seem more severe. We also used short takes during the scenes leading up to the tackle as things were heating up so it would be more quickly paced similar to many high action scenes in movies. Another editing technique we used was an insert shot of the golf bag hitting the ground. This emphasized the loudness of the bag hitting the ground, giving the sense that the guard will notice. The Lego Batman Movie The Lego Batman Movie actually won an award for its extravagant marketing campaign. There was the normal ads and trailers. However, Warner Bros partnered with Channel 4 in the UK and had special animations produced to have Batman announce popular upcoming shows. This channel has an audience of young adults, also broadening the target audience.

Film Research- World War Z

In World War Z, we decided to analyze the scene where they are driving in traffic in Philadelphia. We used this scene because of the short takes and because of the on foot running and chasing scenes. There are no opening credits in this scene of the movie. The budget for this movie was $190 million. It grossed $497.3 million. It was nominated for awards such as the AARP Movie For Grownups award.
